History
Immigration has been a part of american culture since the founding of America. America was founded by immigrants and it's culture was shaped by many different cultures. Immigrants are the foundation for this country, and continue to shape our traditions and cultures. It seems against our society to stop allowing immigrants to enter our country, but how do we deal the with growing issue.
Economical History
During times when our economy is very prosperous we allow immigrants to enter our country with very little issue. Immigrants take the lower level jobs and careers, that most Americans wouldn't want. When we are not hurting for money, as a country, citizens gladly welcome immigrants to help grow our economy.
During times when our economy is down, like it is now, immigration becomes more of a problem. People argue the immigrants take our jobs and money, they argue that the immigrants are hurting the economy more than helping the economy. When we are in need of money, as a country, citizens put a lot of the blame on immigrants, which may or may not be the real issue. Our views on immigration change very rapidly based on the way the United States' economy works.

Current Challenges
Illegal immigration into the United States is massive in scale. More than 10 million undocumented aliens currently reside in the U.S., and that population is growing by 700,000 per year. Typical illegal aliens come to America primarily for better jobs and in the process add value to the U.S. economy. However, they also take away value by weakening the legal and national security environment. When three out of every 100 people in America are undocumented, a national security problem is present. The increasing worry about outsourcing jobs to other nations is just one more reason to attract more jobs to America by insourcing labor. If workers are allowed to work inside the U.S., they immediately add to the economy and pay taxes, which does not happen when a job is outsourced.
